Jazz 1991

Meet baby Jazz.

I don’t remember his kennel name, but this little English Bull Terrier pup showed all the signs of being a show champion right from birth. Bullies are judged on the strength of their chest, the turn on their noses (their noses look funny to us because there is no stop between their foreheads and the tip of their noses) and their stance. For the record, bullies may look menacing but in reality they’re just big babies looking for a belly rub.

Unfortunately for Jazz even though he had all the makings of a champ he could never be shown or bred. In addition to his great looks he also inherited  a problem which is common to pure white bullies…..he was deaf. For dogs this can be a pretty dangerous thing. He can’t hear another animal coming to attack him, he can’t hear cars…..

But don’t worry this story has a happy ending. Jazz found a home on a farm, far away from traffic, with a family who had small children to play with him and from what I heard he had a great life.

Ilsa 1991

Ilsa 1991

A little something from the archives this week. Meet Ilsa, the boxer with a hair lip and the funny bark to go with it. Don’t worry though, she got plenty of lovin’ and had a great life playing around with her brother and sister who were both English Bull Terriers.
